Choose both papers only if you intend to be eligible for both primary and upper-primary teacher levels.

Exam pattern
- Date of examination: 06 September 2026. If the number of candidates increases, the exam may also be conducted on 05 September 2026.
- Paper-II shift: Morning, 09:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Paper-I shift: Evening, 02:30 PM to 05:00 PM. Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes.
- All questions are Multiple Choice Questions. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking.
- Paper-I has 150 MCQs for 150 marks: Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language I, and Language II.
- Paper-II has 150 MCQs for 150 marks: Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science, Language I, and Language II.
- The main question paper is bilingual in Hindi and English.
How to apply
- Open the official CTET website, ctet.nic.in, or the CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.
- Use the CTET September 2026 apply link and choose Apply Online.
- Fill the online application form and note the registration number or application number.
- Upload the latest scanned photograph and scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format.
- Pay the examination fee online by debit card, credit card, or net banking.
- Download and print the confirmation page for future reference. Do not send a hard copy to CTET Unit.
Important messages for students
- Apply only through the official CTET website or CBSE website.
- Candidates should read the information bulletin carefully before applying.
- If a candidate submits more than one online application, the candidature may be cancelled and the candidate may be debarred from future examinations.
- Fee once paid is not refunded or adjusted for a future test under any circumstances.
- Corrections are allowed only once and only during the specified correction window.
- Candidates must mention their own mobile number and email ID because CTET alerts are sent to registered contact details.
