How To Apply
Photo, Signature And Certificate Uploads
- Passport size photograph: 20KB to 50KB, format .jpg, .jpeg, or .png.
- Signature scan: 10KB to 20KB, format .jpg, .jpeg, or .png.
- 10th marksheet: 100KB to 500KB, PDF format.
- 12th marksheet: 100KB to 500KB, PDF format.
- Graduation degree certificate: maximum 500KB, PDF format.
- Aadhaar card: maximum 500KB, PDF format.
- Caste certificate is not required for Unreserved (UR) candidates; reserved category candidates should upload the certificate if the portal asks for it.
- All uploaded documents should be clear, readable, correctly oriented, and matched with the candidate details entered in the form.
- The upload panel may mention a maximum file size of 2MB per document, but candidates should follow the smaller document-wise limits shown for each upload field.
Exam Day Requirements
- Admit card, exam city, reporting time, and exam instructions will be released separately by JSSC.
- The exam may be OMR based or CBT based as decided by JSSC.
- Candidates using scribe facility must follow the official disability and scribe rules and submit requests within the prescribed timeline.
- Document verification after the examination will decide final eligibility for reservation and appointment claims.
Eligibility And Selection
Qualification: Post-wise qualification applies. Key qualifications include M.Sc. Life Science (Entomology) for Assistant Entomologist; B.Sc. for Assistant Vector Borne Disease Control Officer and Inspector; graduation with Mathematics/Economics/Statistics for Statistical Supervisor/Junior Statistical Assistant/Investigator; Dairy Technology/Dairy Science for Dairy Technical Officer; B.F.Sc. or Zoology Honours for Fisheries Extension Supervisor; graduation with Mathematics/Economics/Commerce/Statistics for Auditor; Science/Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Chemistry qualification for Junior Scientific Assistant; Physics Honours for Laboratory Assistant (Physics); and Chemistry Honours for Laboratory Assistant (Chemistry). Candidates must possess the required qualification by the last date of online application.
- Candidates submit the JTGLCCE-2026 online application through the JSSC website.
- JSSC may conduct a preliminary examination if candidate count and circumstances require it; the brochure notes that preliminary exam is generally not held when candidates are fewer than 50,000, but JSSC may decide based on circumstances.
- The examination will be OMR based or CBT based.
- If the exam is held in multiple groups, JSSC will apply normalisation and prepare merit using normalised marks.
- Main examination has three papers: Paper 1 Language Knowledge, Paper 2 identified tribal/regional language, and Paper 3 technical/specific subject plus general knowledge components.
- Paper 1 is qualifying; Paper 2 and Paper 3 marks are used for merit subject to qualifying conditions.
- Shortlisted candidates must produce valid eligibility, reservation, domicile, category, disability, ex-servicemen, sports quota, and other documents during verification.
Exam Pattern
- Questions are objective multiple-choice type.
- Each question carries 3 marks; 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
- Preliminary exam, if held, is 120 questions for 2 hours: General Studies 30, Jharkhand Knowledge 60, General Mathematics 10, General Science 10, Mental Ability 10.
- Main exam has three papers in three shifts.
- Paper 1 Language Knowledge has 120 questions in 2 hours: Hindi 60 and English 60. Paper 1 is qualifying and requires 30% combined marks; its marks are not added to merit.
- Paper 2 identified tribal/regional language has 100 questions in 2 hours. Candidates choose one language from the listed options; 30% marks are required.
- Paper 3 technical/specific subject and general knowledge has 150 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes: technical/specific subject 100, general studies 20, general mathematics 20, general science 10.
- Technical/specific subject in Paper 3 requires 30% marks.
- Merit is prepared from Paper 2 and Paper 3 marks/normalised marks, subject to the qualifying conditions.
