Jharkhand JTET 2026: Apply Online for Teacher Eligibility Test
Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi issued Advertisement No. 24/2026 dated 28 March 2026 for Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test 2026. Online applications were invited from 21 April to 21 May 2026, and Web Notice 29/2026 later extended the online application last date to 20 July 2026 with correction guidance for eligible candidates.

How To Apply
Exam Day Requirements
- Admit cards will be downloaded from the website; they will not be sent by post or any other offline mode.
- Follow all OMR sheet instructions carefully and mark answer circles completely in black or blue.
- OMR tampering, wrong marking, invalid marks, or overwriting may make the answer invalid.
- OMR revaluation or rechecking will not be done after result publication.
- Confirm all eligibility and correction instructions from the official JAC portal before cancelling or refiling any application.
- Use only the official JAC website, exam portal, and apply portal for JTET 2026 updates.
Eligibility And Selection
Qualification: Candidates must satisfy the educational and training qualifications prescribed in Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Rules 2026 and Notification No. 487 dated 26 March 2026. Reserved categories including SC, ST, PVTG, BC-I, BC-II and PwD get 5 percent relaxation in minimum qualifying marks for the prescribed educational qualification. Candidates appearing in the required training qualification examination may be allowed subject to submitting verified final marks within the official schedule.
- Candidates submit the JTET 2026 online application through the official apply portal.
- The test is conducted in two levels: Level 1 for Classes 1 to 5 and Level 2 for Classes 6 to 8.
- Candidates may appear in one level or both levels if eligible.
- The examination is objective and OMR based.
- Passing JTET only establishes eligibility; it does not itself give a right to appointment.
- Final eligibility and certificate validity depend on verification of educational/training qualifications and required documents.
Exam Pattern
- Level 1 is for teachers of Classes 1 to 5.
- Level 2 is for teachers of Classes 6 to 8.
- Each level has one consolidated question paper.
- Duration is 2 hours 30 minutes for each level.
- Eligible visually impaired, cerebral palsy, and both-hands disabled candidates get 30 minutes extra time and scribe facility as per rules.
- Question papers are in Hindi and English; other language-subject papers are in the concerned language.
- Questions are objective multiple-choice type and answers are marked on OMR sheet.
- There is no negative marking.
- Minimum qualifying marks: General / EWS 60 percent; BC-I / BC-II 55 percent; SC / ST / PVTG / PwD 52 percent.
