Staff Selection Commission has issued the Junior Secretariat Assistant / Lower Division Clerk Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination 2025 notice. Online applications are open from 05 June 2026 to 26 June 2026 for 149 tentative departmental vacancies.

How To Apply
Photo And Signature Requirements
- The SSC application module captures a live photograph; candidates are not required to upload a pre-existing photograph.
- Use good light and a plain background while capturing the live photograph.
- Keep the camera at eye level, face the camera directly, and look straight ahead.
- Keep the face fully inside the red rectangular area shown by the application module.
- Do not wear a cap, mask, glasses, or spectacles while capturing the photograph.
- Do not capture a photograph of an old/pre-existing photograph; such applications may be rejected.
- Upload scanned signature in JPEG format, 10 KB to 20 KB, with approximate dimensions 6.0 cm width x 2.0 cm height.
Exam Day Requirements
- The examination will be held in Delhi-NCR only, as per the notice.
- Candidates must carry their Departmental Identity Card in original along with the hard copy of Admission Certificate.
- Candidates without Aadhaar-Based Authentication during OTR must report early and carry at least two recent passport-size colour photographs.
- Carry an original valid photo ID proof with date of birth printed on it, such as voter ID, driving license, PAN card, passport, employer ID, or other eligible government photo ID.
- If the photo ID does not contain date of birth, carry an additional original date-of-birth proof such as matriculation certificate, marks sheet, birth certificate, or category certificate.
- PwBD/PwD candidates using scribe, technology, or assistive devices must carry the required medical certificate/undertaking and scribe photo ID documents as specified in the admission certificate.
Eligibility And Selection
Qualification: This is a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination. Common requirements include eligible departmental service/cadre, 12th class pass or equivalent qualification, and required regular service such as three years in the relevant grade, depending on the participating service/cadre.
- Online application through the SSC website.
- Forwarding of printed application with required documents through Head of Department / Head of Office to SSC Northern Region.
- Computer Based Examination and Written Examination.
- Evaluation of service records / APARs as per the notice.
- Final consideration is subject to service/cadre eligibility, document verification, and vacancy availability.
Exam Pattern
- Part-I has Paper-I Written Examination for 100 marks and Paper-II Computer Based Examination for 100 marks.
- Paper-I is a descriptive short essay paper of 100 marks with 1 hour 30 minutes duration; eligible scribe candidates get 2 hours.
- Paper-II is objective multiple choice with Language (General English or Samanya Hindi) for 50 marks and General Knowledge for 50 marks.
- Paper-II duration is 2 hours; eligible scribe candidates get 2 hours 40 minutes.
- There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II Computer Based Examination.
- Evaluation of service records / APARs is also part of the examination process as per the notice.
Important Messages For Students
- This is a departmental LDCE notice. Candidates should confirm that their parent service/cadre is one of the participating services/cadres before applying.
- Old SSC OTR from ssc.nic.in will not work on the new SSC website.
- The printed application with required documents must be forwarded through proper channel; late applications are rejected.
- No request for change of examination centre will be entertained.
- Admission certificate will be issued online through SSC Northern Region; it will not be sent by post.
- Candidates must verify photo, signature, documents, eligibility, and service/cadre conditions before final submission.
